... are the Olympic and Paralympic mascots for 2012 and I think they're actually quite good, which after the logo is pleasing. A nice little animated back-story too: http://www.london2012.com/mascots
Some nice touches, the names (Much Wenlock and Stoke Mandeville being important places in Olympic and Paralympic history), the Olympic rings around Wenlock's arms and the London taxi-styling on his head

I must say I've come round to it a bit, but that's mainly just because I've got used to it. I thought the version they used during Beijing with a Union Flag background worked a lot better than the normal oneJovis wrote:I like the logo!

I was a bit "whoah!" at first, but after watching the video, I find them very cute. And Morpurgo's an excellent story teller. They remind me of Bing and Bong a bit. Only query is how they'll do them inside the stadiums?

Mischevous Paxman, dubbing them as Nick and Dave. (The colour scheme is uncanny)

I thought they were shit (well, more like blobs of seminal fluid, really) until I saw this:

...and I now think they're fantastic. Those infantile romper suit incarnations in the publicity shots simply don't do them justice.
It's just a shame about the naff logo and that rotting carcass sculpture, as well as the visual vomit of the stadium livery and the conspicuous absence of the official Olympic rings. But yeah, the mascots are great.

Well that would be a visual disaster putting them on all the various coloured logos. Anyhow one of the mascots has all the colours on their arm as bracelets.Chie wrote:I meant the colour rings.Sput wrote:huh?Chie wrote: the conspicuous absence of the official Olympic rings.
