Weekend was crap and boring.

Did have a pleasant surprise today though - got a new Panasonic plasma telly from John Lewis and the delivery company they use was rubbish amd messed me around - John Lewis has refunded 10% of the price of the TV (£80) back to my card as an apology.

I did the same - me and me missus used Pizza Hut Express online ordering and got a 15-inch cheesy-bites pepperoni feast with one free side + one normal side (so we had wedges and garlic bread)...oh god I sound like Tumble Tower...anyway I find PH nicer than Domino's, not sure why though.

Had one from the local kebabi to celebrate a poker tourney win once...was light and tasteless. No wonder it was only £3.50.

Inexplicably it wouldn't accept my card online so they didn't deliver - however this morning my card is choked with "pending payments" totalling 40 odd quid from... Dominos. I wasn't a greedy guts - its the same payment taken 3 times.
That's happened to me before too. It's damned annoying, because unless you ask the bank to clear the markers from your account the money is withheld for 7 days. I asked for cashback at the checkout in Sainsbury's last Thursday; the bimbo on the till had already started processing my purchases so quickly whipped the card out of the reader and back in again before I could tell her not to - because it creates a further ear-mark on the account.

Sure enough, I got home to find my available balance reduced by both amounts. Fortunately there was enough in there to cover them both, but that hasn't always been the case, and it's very embarassing to have to ring the bank from the store to get them to remove the marker so you can buy your shopping.

As for the rest of my bank holiday weekend, it was nice and quiet!

Unfair! It snowed here but nowhere near enough to make a snowball let alone a snowman. I might have to move further North. You Northerners have all the fun.
When i was a kid we got loads of snow down here, but nowadays we get a dusting if we're lucky. * sulks*

And another weekend of snow forecast for the weekend. YAY!! Hopefully this weekends batch of the white stuff will produce enough to make a substantial snowball.
Today though the weather was gorgeous. I saw my first bumblybee of the year too. It was massive. I swear insects are getting bigger every year.

Snow? Good, was getting a bit sick of the plus 10c temps I've been having of recent.

I like cold weather, can't cope with the sun or heat. Hmm, any chance of splitting this off to a more general "weddur" thread perchance Hyma or Gav?

Either that or you're getting smaller.

They said it would snow, and it snowed here! For once!

Snowing here now and it's beginning to stick a little bit. I went out for a little walk this morning. The cold air was really exhilerating. Its really cosy curling up in front of the fire with an Irish coffee and Emmerdale omnibus. The one thing left to complete this winter sccene is a nice pork roast dinner.
Hopefully next week we'll be brushing the cobwebs from the barbeques and digging our shorts and tshirts out from the wardrobe.
