Yes, you make a very valid point.

While the offer of such a license is enticing, I don't know if I could handle the power.

well, I can withdraw it if needed. You have a licence for now.

Perhaps you should create a Franchise, Sput. Sell the rights to the phrase to a select band of people, and receive a cut of the profits. For example, should I use it, my supplement would read: "This phrase was brought to you by Alexia and is a Sput production for Metropol."

What about my cut? I'm an *essential* business asset. I could go on strike you know, and then where would you be?

Well, blandford forum, but that's besides the point.

I don't think I object to Scrooge using it although my lawyer does advise me to press for equal "You're RIGHT, cdd!" from the licensees.

Speaking of image defacement, I think ES should take issue with The Lurker. You see, until now, all the members with vaguely cryptic usernames have been rather fab. However, that moron is very far from fab.

You're wrong, cdd.

This phrase was brought to you by eScrooge and is a Sput production for Metropol.

I think that's correct.

He's wrong, cdd. A wide-ranging study has found these occasions to be so rare as to render such a feature pointlss.

You're wrong, cdd. The people using the phrase are franchisees, not licensees.

Cue plethora of pedants telling me the difference.

This phrase was brought to you by Alexia and is a Sput production for Metropol.

I think it's important that any licensing scheme is fair and equitable. I would urge the Competition Commission to investigate to ensure that there are effective access arrangements in place.
