I use Gillette Mach 3 but with the "tough beard" variant of the new Gillette gel stuff.
I've tried other razors but Mach 3s are the sharpest by far, even with that I get abut 3 shaves out of them before they go blunt. That probably says more about the brillo pad that grows on my face than the blades.

I normally wax but when i do use a razor i opt for the gilette venus pink one. Or that new battery operated one they do for girls these days.
* i see there isn't an option for waxing or depilatory cream in the poll*
Years ago i used to shave gents with a cut throat razor, hot towels and facial massage the works but then KCC banned it in Barbers for health and hygiene reasons. We were allowed to use disposable razors but it's just not the same. So it's now a service i no longer provide.

What are electric razors like? never used one - would imagine they pull the hairs out of the skin like little tweesers?
I use Gillette Fusion as I find its softer on my skin - I get very bad razor burn and end up using load of gell - find the Gilette the best. I also have to make sure the hairs have had a good soak to soften them.

Many years ago when I first started shaving I used an electric one. If you're not very beardy or have quite soft facial hair, they're okay.nidave wrote:What are electric razors like? never used one - would imagine they pull the hairs out of the skin like little tweesers?

If you've got a full, manly helping of beardy bits, they're pretty awful. Very oftend they'll miss hairs, so you end up with wispy bits left, plus if you've left it a couple of days, they really do pull on the hairs. I've also got rather sensitive skin, and found electric shaving rather irritating on the face.
I guess though if you're prepared to pay for a really expensive one, they may be better.
