Anyone know anything about this service?

http://www.blockstatus.com/msn/stchecker

Apparently if you log in with your MSN address, this service can check if a particular contact has blocked you, or if they just haven't been online for a while. However, it says it accesses your password details, etc, so I am reluctant to use it.

Anyone had any experience of this or similar services?

In my experience, they are all unreliable, and I mean that.

They're are all built on similar technology. I wouldn't give them your password, or email address.

For me, the people that I searched always, always showed up as offline.

These won't work if the person who has blocked you has not allowed you to see them online, which really what blocking does. Not only that, but I have come across a few that give me spyware. Therefore, they do fuck all.

Alternatively, you could just make sure you don't get blocked at all!

Yes I don't understand people who want to use Block Checkers - after all, if you're being blocked by your contacts, it's for a reason.

A lot of online block checkers used to work, but I'm pretty sure a change in MSNP a while back made that either impossible or much harder, which in a way has worked out better for the spyware and scammer types since they can offer all these seemingly wonderful block checkers that demand your Live ID credentials only to piss all over your face.

Instead, try the very simple but effective technique I use

Me: Has (name) blocked me?
Someone Else: Yes/No/No, (name) is offline
Me: Okay, thanks.

Another way to do it is by opening MSN Messenger (or Windows Live Messenger), click on File then Options.

Somewhere in the list is a list of people in your contacts list (and those that have hadded you) and also those you have blocked - and blocked you.

Oh, never give your MSN address or password to e-messenger as it sends wierd adverts to people on your list. I did it and my 90-yr old aunt recieved an email asking her if she'd like a penis enlargement and that I'd suggested she'd get one!

Happy New Year one and all :!: :P
