Sorry schnuckums! I do think the rule is a bit daft, but Lobster, I provide an irreplaceable bad joke service and expect nothing in return. I must be lowering the bar :)

I think Lobster's Lobster hardly breaks the rules! It's part of his digital persona.

Are you trying to imply that your online persona is a thin white line? Because I think that's overselling it just a bit, cdd!

in clear breach of the rules.
the rules wrote:Many forum based sites feature avatars - small pictures that accompany posts. Here at Metropol 24))7 we offer users the option to upload only photos of themselves as their avatar. i know gavin is perfect, so he mustn't have noticed it or something. unlike the other place, i like to think the 'pol is free from favouritism and stuff.
Fair point. I like Avatars but get fed up looking at myself alongside my posts. I just thought that as everyone knows what i look like it would do no harm for a short while. I've got to get round to doing a new one you see. So i take it i can't have another fairy avatar? It's a nice one it's not offensive or anything.

Could we not have a gallery instead, and then we can have whatever avatar we want.

Yeah, I tried that, and someone said I looked too smug, so I removed it! And other photos are more embarrassing. One makes me look camp, one makes me look like I'm trying to look hard, and anything else makes me look fat.
Can you try and merge all 3? That could look cool.

A camp, hard, fat teenager? That would be anything but cool.

Why now get dressed up in a fairy costume - that way you can have the fairy and it will stay within the rules as its a pic of you.

I'm afraid not. The point of avatars is so that people can see the person "speaking".

We all know what homer simpson (etc etc) look like. This is a feature to identify who *you* are.

I did allow the good Doctor special dispensation as he provides a very useful upload service; however I hadn't anticipated it would makes others feel it was an unfair system.

So it's face pics or nothing from here on in.
