... I am of course referring to pirates, a very feeble marketing campaign which Microsoft is now playing on as our household was sent a box containing nothing more than a large rock rock a blue box, accompanied by a small and dull leafelet. I would not be so bitter were it not for the fact that I was sent down to the Royal Mail Sorting Office to collect the f-ing thing. Just where the hell do these rocks come from!? And if this is a nationwide marketing campaing, isn't there an environmental issue here too?

What.. I'm confused here. Microsoft sent you a rock... in the post? Any pics of the box, or the rock? Perhaps it contains the beta version of vista for your trial. :P

Perhaps the rock was there for a purpose, and would ultimately find its own destiny in some form or another?

To be slung through one of the windows at Microsoft's office in Reading the next time you needed a bit of stress relief when your computer "apologises" for crashing when you've been working on that important document?

*another puff of smoke*

Sorry. I'm in a bit of a strange mood tonight. :?

Well it could be worse. At least they sent it through the post and didn't hurl it through your living room window.

Lets see a pic.

It's obvious what they're trying to tell you.

Not actually my rock (in fact mine is much rounder and nicer :-)) but it's pretty much the same thing. A google search suggests this is a UK-wide thing, so it's a pretty good bet that the rocks are being sourced from somewhere in the UK (all results originate from the UK). My google saerch also revelaed the following website: http://www.stonesreunited.co.uk/index.html
