I personally always wanted to put a avatar of a TV character like: Rimmer, Homer or Bender but I believe that isn't allowed is that correct :?

YES. I had the scary clown from the testcard for a while, then a mod or martin noticed. Although, i think it scared passing sheep as well.

According to the latest research, if you *did* look like me then I would probably trust you, but not be attracted to you.

So in conclusion it's still no.

The rule about face-only avatars is nice and simple. Being able to see an image of the author next to their message adds something to my idea of them, where an image of Bender or Homer does not. Of course it's a personal choice to display or not, but I'd be happy to see more participating.

Mrtomservo's upload service for TV Forum is one option, but you must have a valid TVF account.

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum

Images are only hosted for 30 days at which point you will have to upload again. Avatar images should not be larger than 80x80 pixels.

There are many other free hosting services, though not all will allow remote linking for the likes of signatures/avaters on message boards. Google for more information.

After much consideration I have decided I would fall under the uggo category. Still! Could be worse! I could be proper fat!
