If I was to be rather pedantic, I would have to say that the style has been changed recently from above to this:

Guess the first 'harlequin' design was a little too complex for the painters.
Shame. Looks better I think.

Painters? I didn't think buses got painted anymore? It's now a case of putting a sheet of plastic on the side of the bus and sticking the livery on.

That's why Southend buses have been given <camp> rather gorgeous </camp> pink gradients.

Lol, I couldn't find a picture of the new style. Both are in use though.

26 is similar but that is slightly more gold and has a heart on it. Presumably because it goes through the heart of the city. OK, i'm done...

I prefer the middle one with the more complex design myself. The new one looks old fashioned

A page about the history of the station and various logos is here.
There's also an MP3 at the bottom with various audio imaging from across the decades.

Seeing as we're talking about Edinburgh here at the moment, how about a future possible Jenners -> House of Fraser rebrand? They've said it won't happen, but I think that was maybe just to stop the posh grannies choking on their afternoon tea and cakes.
