Sorry to drag this thread back up, but whilst I was in WHSmith in The Arndale Centre in Manchester today I realised they have had a move round and half of the downstairs bit is being converted into a Costa Coffee. Though it annoyed me slightly that they had moved everything, as all of the DVD's were downstairs in their own big section now they're all on the big stands in a smaller bit upstairs.Brad wrote:Well, a Costa Coffee place has just opened in the back of the York branch!

Oh I know, the CD section has become incredibly pointless now, don't seem to have anything worth having in there anymore. I'm still getting used to the new high shelves and still automatically go downstairs for the dvd's. Tsk.
You're not the only one, the DVD's have been downstairs for god knows how long, I nearly went down the other day, but then I saw the DVD's in one place, in what I am certain is a smaller sized DVD section.ashley b wrote:I'm still getting used to the new high shelves and still automatically go downstairs for the dvd's. They're doing buy one get one half price on chart CD's at the moment so that's not a bad deal.
But I agree, they're not really putting in any effort with the CD's DVD's. I think the same can be said of Woolworths as well, the limited space and range available is very poor, and the presentation of both stores is awful.
I am not a fan of this trend of putting DVD's in clear plastic boxes, who wants to look at the product in a box ?
