But that was to go away to university, wasn't it? With respect, that's a whole lot different to moving away from your own (rather than your parents') home and job when you're a few years older. It doesn't really compare at all.Jamez wrote:I thought that moving away from home was going to he really difficult. I moved 100 miles away to an area I didn't know, and no one I knew!
My heads in turmoil - How do you make big decisions?
I left home at 18 to move from Grimsby to London to University I couldn't wait. Bright lights, big city and all that.
When I graduated and started work I was beginning to tire of the place and wanted out.
I had the oppertunity to move to Manchester for a new job and i took it.
That was 3 years ago and I know I made the right decision.
At the end of the day, if you are unhappy where you are, or feelt hat your career will progress better elsewhere then go for it.
Do you research and find a place where the jobs are plentiful in the aarea of work you do, there the wage is good and where getting a house (rent or buy) is easy and/or cheap.
If you have mates int eh new town, even better, but sometimes it is good just to arrive somewhere and get on with live and make new friends when you get there.
PM me is you fancy a chat about it.

I understand if the decision is diffucult at first, but if you want to start from scratch I cant say going somewhere else to be with friends is exactly "A fresh slate"
I respect you for attempting somewhere new because not alot of other people would ever consider it. But personally, I feel if Im going to move I'd have to go somewhere new and different, where I know no one, and where I'd never been before.
But I say go for it, you cant tell me you dont get bored with the same old surroundings etc, etc, etc
