I say this because of its schedule being hardly different any day. LOADS of shows available but they only repeat OFAH. How about you repeat the dozen other shows in your archives. I can see why Citizen Khan won't, but I'm gobsmacked they favour Not Going Out to Two Doors Down. The Jelly ident is disgusting. The channel needs to go all out and get new idents.

Like radio, the smaller channels that work successfully are those that have a select amount of shows on heavy rotation. OFAH works for U&Gold and has been in their top 10 shows for years.
Unlike Rewind TV or That's TV which seem to acquire a series of some obscure show that hasn't been shown for 40 years for good reason is then replaced with something else equally obscure, U&Gold schedules largely classic sitcoms and the odd commission that suits the brand rather than going straight to the bargain bin of shows.

Which, believe it or not, is nonsense. The commissions are common, but have they really remembered they have a back catalogue? Not to mention that's not even all of the point.Martin Phillp wrote: Fri 10 Oct, 2025 21.11 Like radio, the smaller channels that work successfully are those that have a select amount of shows on heavy rotation. Gold used to be decent background TV but you got streaming services now, I do wonder just how many people are watching the broadcast channels of a day… it can’t be many , surely?

I think the split of the original UK Gold was a big mistake. I like OFAH but the constant repetition gets on my nerves and ask for Johnny Vegas' shows......Arggh!

To be Fair to gold there is NO only fools and horse during the weekday, they are screening other stuff like Dinner ladies, Blackadder and even Don't wait up. If they make more many from showing OFAH on Saturday and Sunday then that market forces and we have to live with it.

Of course we have to live with it. I adore OFAH but variety is the spice of life.barcode wrote: Tue 14 Oct, 2025 15.24 To be Fair to gold there is NO only fools and horse during the weekday, they are screening other stuff like Dinner ladies, Blackadder and even Don't wait up. It wasn't really a mistake. My problem is it's never half its content, it's 5 fucking shows on loop. Those can easily be moved to BBC Four.1mbroglio wrote: Mon 13 Oct, 2025 19.47 I think the split of the original UK Gold was a big mistake. I agree with the content issue but still believe the mixed programming of the original was better. Sadly times change and so must we.MoeTheMan2025 wrote: Fri 17 Oct, 2025 14.30It wasn't really a mistake. My problem is it's never half its content, it's 5 fucking shows on loop.
