All the stores down here have already got the uniforms changed over and most internal (non-fixed) POS updated. Co-Op branded stock is starting to filter through (mainly on the perishable items for obvious reasons) but obviously this will take some time to complete. No refits yet though.woah wrote:It'll be interesting to see how quickly they roll out the new Co-op look and where the first new stores will pop up - they were quite quick with a lot of the stores when they did the 2007 rebrand. It'll also be interesting to see what changes are made to the interior of existing stores since a lot (but not all) are still looking pretty smart.
I noticed last night they've already put the new logo on their distribution depot in the East Midlands, just by the M1.

First post here, so hello. My local Co-op had a full internal refit just under a month ago, and they've been back to amend the frontage. Sadly, it's a hideous halfway house.

One-off or more to come like this?
EDIT: now with image, apologies

Hi there - that image didn't show because the link doesn't point to the actual image file. Here it is:thecorrector wrote:First post here, so hello. My local Co-op had a full internal refit just under a month ago, and they've been back to amend the frontage. Sadly, it's a hideous halfway house.

I'm sure that can't be permanent but it does seem a bit pointless really. They've not done that to any stores around here that I've seen, but I have noticed one that has a new Co-op hanging sign (there wasn't an old one) but nothing else different. Again, seems a waste of time until they fully update the store's branding.

My local Co-Op also has a new white Co-op hanging sign. I agree, it's a waste of time as when they fully update the branding, they will probably replace that again with a blue Co-op hanging sign. It would be better to wait until they fully update the branding.

The Co-op on Earl Grey Street in Edinburgh has had the makeover. Here's it pictured today:

Co-op (The Co-operative Group) historically didn't have much of a presence around here, leaving the patch mainly to Scottish Midland Co-operative Society (ScotMid), however after the Somerfield takeover they have also expanded into a few new units around the city too - probably because ScotMid doesn't do a very good job. It doesn't look like ScotMid will make any changes following the new Co-op rebranding, and they didn't adopt the green brand either.
On my short 25 minute walk to work, I pass two ScotMid and two Co-op (Group) stores, two are only one street apart and you'll often see the Group branded lorry leave one, drive two minutes along the road and deliver to the "competitor".

Similar situation at my local.thecorrector wrote:First post here, so hello. My local Co-op had a full internal refit just under a month ago, and they've been back to amend the frontage. Sadly, it's a hideous halfway house.

Locally where I have a supermarket and Funeralcare. The latter now has the silver cloverleaf sign attached to the wall with no change to the old sign, while no change to the supermarket which is as green as ever.
TVF's London Lite.
I've seen a 'halfway house' Funeralcare which looks similarly poor.thecorrector wrote:First post here, so hello. My local Co-op had a full internal refit just under a month ago, and they've been back to amend the frontage. Sadly, it's a hideous halfway house.
