So no doubt you've seen news that Nigel Farage's light aircraft came down and crashed - but both he and the pilot weren't seriously injured, which looking at the wreckage is amazing really. It's a tricky one for the news channels as they can't go into too much detail - but the story, unintentionally, is giving UKIP a lot of airtime on what would be considered a slow news day.

I have to say, the picture of Farage is the wreckage is a little disturbing and no doubt has only been released because both he and the pilot escaped without any serious consequences. If he had been injured any more seriously though, I wonder what the conspiracy theorists would have made of it?

I wouldn't go as far to say that it was intentional, but it's bloody convenient for them. I'm really surprised that neither of them were killed or very seriously injured..

Politically I'm no fan of the man, but wish Nigel Farage and the pilot a full recovery. However it's quite a metaphor. UKIP tangled up in it's own tail, nose diving to the ground with a thump.

Sky now reporting that Farage is to stay in hospital overnight.

Do we know if he got the chance to vote today, would be funny if he couldn't vote for himself and he lost by 1 vote!

My fingers are crossed thousandfold, hoping for this to happen.

what are the rules on reporting on election day? it's almost surreal that we've had election od these past few weeks and it's now barely mentioned.

It is odd, but the Farage crash obviously tips the balance. I'm waiting for the evening news programs when the early polls start coming out before the actual polls close.

You can broadcast nothing whatsoever that could influence anyone's vote (ie, no reports of campaigning or protests), nor can you report anything about opinion polls until the polling stations close at 2200.
