Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Can I imagine there was? Incidentally, what's the policy on BT phone boxes? Any plans to remove old BT piper logos from them and/or give them new looks? I doubt it, since they're being removed pretty much continually and there must be a massive amount of spare panels with the piper on. Bloody usele...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

I went past a branch of Phones 4u in Stratford, East London. (The town has two, with another in Westfield) where it had the generic closed notice with the unhappy smiley face. It appeared they took all the dummy handsets off the shelves, but rather bizarrely left the plasma on behind the shop window...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Alternatively, these rumblings may be lies and there may be many Argos stores with iPads and plasmas in. We wouldn't know here, our local branch has the old logo on it still and those blue stockcheck machines. There are what Argos call 'Digital only' stores in and around London. The stores on the O...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Christ, didn't see that one coming. Never had any cause to buy from them but their shops were always busy. Makes sense for the networks to want to supply directly. Bummer for those who have mail-in cashback deals with dialaphone though. I read a report in one of the papers about two weeks ago about...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

It's a pretty depressing time to be a TV Forum member. If it gets worse than this I'm not sure if I'll stop visiting but I'll probably start posting less. Same here. Filtering through the oddball posts and childish remarks is becoming tiresome. I'm beginning to see why some people are frustrated wi...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

Hopefully the end of the school holidays in most of the UK will stop these kids from posting as much.

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

The sainsburys double belters were tried at tesco years ago but dumped due to being so flakey and their habit of throwing the food back at you. The double belters at my local Sainsburys have recently been replaced to expand the standard self checkouts. The food rarely came back, but would throw a h...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

The layout of those tills look similar to easyeverything/easyinternetcafe circa 2000!

However, if you're not buying items to be weighed, It'll certainly save on time when buying a sandwich and a paper.

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Is this Tesco in question using the new Self Checkouts which use the minimum amount of space possible?

The smaller tills are designed for the 'meal deal' crowd with smaller carrier bags, these have recently been added to Tesco Surrey Quays in addition to the larger tills.
