Re: Another High Street Rebrand
Often when a company is purchased the brand is retained by the owner, and it is a condition of purchase that the new owner rebrands within a certain period of time. In cases like these, where it appears a family owned garden centre is sold to a chain, the family probably wanted to ensure that their ...

Re: Google Wave
I could really do with a Wave invite too, it would be really useful for university group assignments. If anybody would be so kind, you can shoot one off to william[dot]squires[at]student[dot]shu[dot]ac[dot]uk. Thanks very much in advance

Re: Old Supermarkets(/buildings)
Sainsbury's in Attleborough wore the J SAINSBURY logo above their door until last year. I remember the shop actually opened just after they announced the rebrand, so staff had the new uniform but the shop was in the old style. Does anyone remember how during this period Sainsbury's used two logos si...

Re: How long does your phone take to boot?
All the Windows Mobile phones I've had take around a minute. The Palm Treo Pro I'm on presently wont actually "switch" off, it has a power switch but that'll just turn off all the various wireless receivers and transmitters on board, leaving it to operate as a PDA. To force it off, you hav...

Re: Haribo Maoam: ban this filth
What kind of doughnut would fail to realise that it would take a mind aware of basic sexual procedures to put the two together?
I guess the answer is the kind of doughnut that reads the Fail.

Nick at nite and [adult swim]
Can anybody tell me why MTV Networks and Turner don't bother with these strands in this country? They have several children's channels which either pointlessly repeat the days content overnight, or in the case of the Nickelodeon channels just give up all together overnight. I know Bravo had a go at ...

Re: It's All In The Name
It was a nice simple GUI in my opinion... just slow to varying degrees of awful. They were no slower than the Pace boxes ntl:home were pushing out at the time though.

Re: It's All In The Name
Perhaps the greatest and most thorough metamorphosis of them all: ONDigital to ITV Digital. Now there was a well-executed, thorough and orderly transition! I didn't think it was that messy a transition all said. They did increase their subscriber base, just nobody took the sport channel it was ther...

Re: What's happened to Head?
Head in Meadowhall was all the same a week or so ago... seems to look a bit more permanent every time I go in. Still a shite name.

Crikey, I should really post here more. This is exactly my kind of thread... Re: The co-operative The internal politics of the Coop and the various societies has lead to them pretty much missing the 'convenience' boat, whilst Tesco and Sainsbury's have sailed ahead with their Express and Local forma...

Re: Windows 7
After having had my laptop moan at me for a week about expiring on the July 1st, in true me style I finally upgraded to RC on July 1st. Seems pretty good - although I've noticed it takes a lot longer to boot.
