Glasses less 3D Receivers

Seems that there's a small problem following the recent reveal of the next Generation of 3D receivers. The way the video is processed, means according to one report that existing 3D BR Disks are incompatible with the technology in the new standard being developed.

I don't think backward compatability will come into the 3D equasion in any way at all.
It's wearing the glasses which gets in the way of take-up.
The people who come up with a system where you don't need the glasses will win; and all previous versions will be instantly consigned to the bin.
I quite look forward to the new technology, when it comes along, allowing me to see the old technology disappearing downwards, away from me, into the bin.

Update to this thread - Dolby 3D have been making some noise this week about their development of their own GF3D solution (autostereoscopic). Probably still a bloody year or more away mind, but if they can get near the quality of their passive glasses system it'll look darn good.
