I recently lost the lapel clip for a Sennheiser Freeport presentation set. Now I can't use it (in any practical way).
I've looked round on various sites for new clips, but rarely find anything suitable - and when I do it's far more than I'd like to pay.
Does anyone know where I can get one for under £6, including shipping? And one that would work with the microphone?

£10.34 is the best I can find - but the more expensive "wire gripping" clip is more practical.
However this one will do the job if you're not too fussed about the cosmetics.

The "premium" ones grip the wire too. I've attached some pics of mine to illustrate.Jovis wrote:Thanks Gavin. Is holding it at the wire okay then? I'm imagining it to rub against the clothing more than if it were held by the mic itself.
From the front you can see the capsule itself is untouched by the clip

From the side you get a better idea of how far off the clothes its held

And broken into its separate pieces you can see how it goes together - and where you'd clip the wire to the back of the lapel clip

The link I've sent you to the cheaper version is much more basic. Its a plastic hook that you push the wire into - but the downside is they have hinged the plastic lapel clip in the centre, rather than at the end - so you can't slip it fully over a tie or your lapel - there's always an "overhang" of plastic - if you see what I mean.

Not a problem in theatre - but on camera it might look a bit cheap and nasty.
The more expensive lapel clips are around £20 - £25, but are maybe worth that bit extra if you can put the money together.
EDIT: Here's one for £22. Scroll down to the MZQ-222 clip on this page.

Now you've got the replacement part number, shop around the net.
You'll also notice there's a cheaper one designed to grip the capsule with a sprung wire - but I wouldn't recommend it unless its for the correct model, as the diameter may grip too much, or not enough.

And I've just spotted these are in dollars - but I'd expect the UK price to be the same, i.e. $22 = £22. Don't ask why - that's just the way it tends to be

Hope this helps.

That's no trouble.Jovis wrote:Gavin, you've been incredibly helpful, thank you!
I'll be sure to have a look round - thanks for the hint too Bail.
Bail's suggestion of a hire company is a good one - as there's every chance you can pick up an ex-hire one for little money - and as there's not a lot that can go wrong with them there's no point in paying for new. The company I used to work for always had lots of them floating about.
Non-specialist retailers will tend to charge the list price (no discount), so make use of all the contacts you can get!
Visuals don't just do hire, they do sales and repairs to, hence my suggestion of sourcing a replacement rather than equivalentGavin Scott wrote:That's no trouble.Jovis wrote:Gavin, you've been incredibly helpful, thank you!

Yes I was having a good look on their site.
Wonder what they supply to River City.
Ex-hire kit is always worth a punt though.
