Now most of us through our association with "the other place" are collectors of such things as idents, sounds, PIFs whatever. Many of us will also have complete-series collections of various TV series and musical works etc.
But what other, more personal collections do you have lurking away somewhere?
I'll kick us off - I collect glasses. I have beer pint glasses branded with most of the top beer, lager and cider brands as well as some rarer ones, all having been obtained completely legitimately - lovingly shoved in the missus' handbag surruptitiously at the end of the evening. I also have every Private Eye magazine, all but a couple in pristine condition, going back to September 2002 when I began buying them in earnest.
In the past I used to collect die-cast model buses which sadly I didn't keep in their original boxes and are now not worth much.
Another bizarre hoard was my gathering of tickets of all sorts - bus, train, car park etc. Don't really know why, you do some strange things when you're younger.
I look forward to reading about your own hoards.

I used to collect a lot of Star Trek bits n pieces. Never really planned to, nor did I do much with it, but insignia badges, props and that type of thing. And some lovely prints too.
Tried selling some on ebay recently, and feel I may have missed the boat with regard to TNG memorabilia. Perhaps its all too long ago now.
And through the years of comedy stuff my partner and I do I have amassed quite the collection of ladies shoes.
In a size 11.

My collections are:
Lego - I got my first Lego set for Christmas in 1987 and still get sets to this day. And pleased that the online Lego shop now sells *proper* minifigure heads instead of all these modern ones with smirks and facial hair.
CDs - In particular Now! CDs, only missing five volumes of the regular series released on CD in my collection. Also collect other series such as The Hits Album range, which have been cheaper to get a hold of.

Milk bottles!
Milk bottles with adverts painted on them in the main, some just with the name of the dairy, but always in paint.
It never used to work as a chat-up line though, "Would you like to come up and see my milk bottle collection?".

I collect Metropolitan Police uniform and equipment.
I own 3 Police duty shirts with epaulette loops and radio loops, Magnum boots, Black clip on tie, a NATO Jumper with MetPatch, a MetVest stab vest, some epaulettes with sergeants stripes and "SO 79" On them, Two Motorola Radios (MTH800 and MTS2000), A complete Viper duty belt with equipment (ASP 21", CS Incapacitant Spray, Breathalyser ect.) and a Blue and White Chequered Police hat. Oh, and a warrant card with MetBadge and my Photo in it.
I only have a Metroline London double decker and 2 Travel West Midlands buses left.

I used to collect those too, although I liked to take them out of the boxes and look at the details.Alexia wrote:In the past I used to collect die-cast model buses which sadly I didn't keep in their original boxes and are now not worth much.

I think overall I had a Bristol VR in Greater Manchester colours, a Bristol Lodekka, a few single deckers including the Leyland National in Southern National livery, a couple of classic coaches and a few others. Never had a Routemaster mind. All from "Original First Editions" IIRC - no Corgi stuff.Beep wrote:I used to collect those too, although I liked to take them out of the boxes and look at the details.Alexia wrote:In the past I used to collect die-cast model buses which sadly I didn't keep in their original boxes and are now not worth much.

Mine are all Creative Master Northcord. The ones I have left and weren't destroyed by my nephew.Alexia wrote:I think overall I had a Bristol VR in Greater Manchester colours, a Bristol Lodekka, a few single deckers including the Leyland National in Southern National livery, a couple of classic coaches and a few others. Metroline Volvo Olympian, TWM Alexander Dennis Trident and a TWM Citaro Bendi-Bus. Oddly, I used to have one with the destination blind showing "BBC Pebble Mill" and No, it wasn't modified.
Posh carrier bags. I keep them all, and even buy them off friends after they've been shopping if I like the design.
I have a collection of about 100 coins. The oldest coin is a silver dollar, which was minted in 1879.
I've also got a 'miscellaneous tat' box which is full off autographs, shells, badges, leaflets, train tickets and so on.

Ah I collect money too, though not religiously - I've got a few pre-Euro coins, some American stuff, pre-decimalisation, and some of those 50ps with the hands on them in a circle.Chie wrote: I have a collection of about 100 coins. The oldest coin is a silver dollar, which was minted in 1879.
I collected badges up until the age of about 19-20. Had nearly an entire wall covered with them, then moved out and just didn't have the space any more, so the thousand-plus that I have sit in ice cream tubs at my mum's house nowadays.

I collect money too, though I doubt you quite meant it in the way I do it.
