So did you go along into the special booth and gift somebody your great big kiss ? Much choice this time around, it was like on a sheet of continuous listing paper.

It was a spectacular piece of paper wasn't it! I shall not say who I voted for, but I was surprised to hear just how irrational the Greens' policies are. Basically, if it's science they don't like the sound of, they oppose it.
That includes stem cell research, nuclear power (both kinds) and genetic modification BECAUSE we don't know. Their basic premise seems to be "we don't know if this thing is bad or not, so we'd better not find out!"

Knight knight
I voted Green. I know some (most?!) of their policies are nuts. But given the choice over here, it seemed the right protesty vote thing to do.
It seems if you're unionist you also have to vote for homophobia (3 flavours of homophobic unionism available).

On the contrary, a spoiled paper is very much a "none of the above" vote, unlike simply not voting at all, which could be interpreted as apathy rather than dissatisfaction with the candidates available.Sput wrote:Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.
The candidates are shown the spoiled papers, so if you were to write "None of the above Greedy Tax Fiddling Bastards" across the paper, that will be seen by the candidates.

Well yeah, that was just one example of the kind of protest message you might want to write. Presumably if you don't feel able to support any of the candidates you'll have your reasons for that and could devise a suitable message to deface your ballot paper with.
Voters seem to think they're being really, really clever by voting for the Greens.Sput wrote:It was a spectacular piece of paper wasn't it! They also think being able to brag about having voted for a party which has the word 'green' in the title gives them a bit of street cred as well.
In my opinion they're just a non-party, and I can't believe people actually waste their vote on them in matters of such national importance.
