Fucking stupid bitch.
"The only thing green about him is the slime running through his veins" - what the hell gives her the right to say that about him?
Really riled me, that did. I don't agree with protesting - it's kind of like saying "yeah, everyone has different opinions, but mine is right and you are disgusting for not agreeing with it".
Tsk.
That woman who threw green stuff at Mandelson
She's right, the man's a disgrace. The professional liar, hypocrite and fraudster has already had to resign from the government twice and Gordon Brown only brought him back to fiddle the figures and win him the next election, because he knows full well what a devious, scheming slimeball Madelson can be.
The incident happened about half an hour after he was interviewed on BBC Breakfast by the way. In reply to Susanna Reid asking him why the government is refusing to acknowledge and apologise for its part in the recession, Mandelson declared the government doesn't share any of the blame for what's happened to the economy whatsoever. Those were his words.

I don't feel confident enough to put my thoughts into coherent argument (not 'cos there isn't one, just I don't know how to phrase it) - I wonder whether someone else can explain what they think I'm trying to say? I only took Politics, not Economics, at A Level.
I have to agree with sput here, Government spending did not cause this, I do believe amount of debt the uk has had has been going down, ( until there had to start nationalizing banks) saying that we HAD to spend, we have been so tightfisted since 80;s that money needed to be pumped in.
What caused this is stupid banks / lenders giving out money and buying stuff which were bad
I still believe when the Banks get privatized again the government will sale them off at a high lever than what the paid for thus, making the government a healthy profit.

I'm in 2 states of mind about this. On one hand its funny seeing Mandelson getting custard thrown in his face, but I hope the woman gets the book thrown at her (not literally). We live in a society in which assault is not an acceptable way of getting your point across.
I agree, Jake. Although it made for some amusing footage on the News, it’s not something anyone would want to happen to them. I’m not fan of Mandelson, by any means, but at least he managed to laugh off an incident which could have been potentially more serious.Jake wrote:I'm in 2 states of mind about this. Rather than heckle from the orchestra pit, Sput, why don’t you give us your opinion on what caused the recession?Sput wrote:I'm curious, Chie, how DID the government cause the recession?
So government spending policy caused the recession? How does that work, exactly?
Do you actually have one, or are you just unwilling to be berated from the sidelines in a similar fashion?
