IE hangs with Flash 10

Having just reinstalled XP afresh after numerous problems with IE, which I had taken to be the effect of a number of installs and removes of other software, I am slightly pissed off to find that it was most likely down to the latest release of Flash, number 10.

On opening the browser for the first time, it went straight to MSN's homepage (I hadn't changed it to aboutblank as usual) and hung on loading the Flash adverts.

It seems that it might be a common problem: Google search

So, if you're having a problem with IE hanging, you may find uninstalling Flash 10 a good bet. The downside is that to install Flash 9 from Adobe, you need a 134MB download to get at the tiny ActiveX or Firefox plug-in installer.

Hope this is of some help to someone!

And with this contrasting thread, order and balance is restored to Metropol, and indeed the world :)

I think it's the mac problem:pc problem ratio being restored.

I think we might need another PC issue then, as I see it it's currently 2:1 in the Mac problem area.
