What are you having for dinner?

All this blabbering about bread and such has prompted the above question.

I'm roasting a chicken just now. First time ever. It should be done by 6. Thank goodness for Hugh Fernley-Whatsit educating me about cheap intensively farmed chooks - I had no idea I could buy one for £3 and some change. I think that's what he was trying to tell me.

I've brushed it with melted butter and crushed peppercorns. I'm going to do some rice with peppers and sweetcorn and I'll add a dash of double cream at the last minute. I shall call it Chicken a la Gav.

I feel quite excited (and a little lame for admitting it) about my first roast. I've asked a friend round to share. He's clearly nervous about my skills as he hasn't replied yet.

My cooker is broken, so I'm frying me some chicken for a caesar salad. It'll probably not be all that nice, truth be told.

Fried chicken is delish. Are you making your own croutons?

There's a stale bread thread around here somewhere.

Oh I can't abide croutons. It's the "what's left in the fridge and that includes dressing" version :)

My chicken is lush. Moist and full of flavour.

If I'd bothered to defrost a chicken breast I'd have been having nice curry tonight (sainsburys organic tikka masala is really lovely, although I don't know why it suggests fannying on cooking it in the over for 45 mins, slop it over the chicken in the frying pan and fry it for five mins).

so instead i think it'll be a breaded bit of fish and some oven chips from the freezer. yum.

Was spaghetti Bolognese tonight, a meal I always dread. Not only do I think it tastes awful, but the other inhabitants of the house like to have 'spaghetti races', which basically is a contest to see who can suck up a piece of spaghetti the fastest. Even the noise of it makes me retch.
Ronnie is victorious, vivacious in victory like a venomous dog. Vile Republicans cease living while the religious retort with rueful rhetoric. These rank thugs resort to violence and swear revenge.

But Ronnie can punch through steel so they lose anyway.

I had Stovies for my dinner last night. It's been a favourite of mine for years.

No no no Rob, this thread is all about the future - not last night!
