What is with gratuitous use of 'As Seen on TV!' splattered over packaging and ads? I could at least almost understand some pensioner-endorsed juicer with its incredible 1.4l pulp bin advertising the fact in a bid to lend the product some more credibility, but the other day we got a Somerfield leaflet through the door that, alongside its discount chicken and strawberries, screamed AS SEEN ON TV!...presumably in a Somerfield advert, which isn't exactly the most dramatic proclamation of the century.

Moreover, what is with posting a topic on this most mundane of subject matters?

Discuss.

That's always annoyed me. Yes, anything may have been seen on TV, so long as you have paid for the advert. That doesn't mean somebody else thinks it's good.

yes what was with that somerfield leaflet? it's not as if we even have any somerfields at this end of town and if they think that students, most of whom lack cars, will hike up to the back of the ferry or hilltown just to get an offer than is inferior to those at tesco just down the road they're mad. stupid company.

The worst one is the "Jack LaLane Power Jucer Elite" as the ad says on TV Warehouse AS SEEN ON TV WAREHOUSE!
