Gmail Is Evil

It's not really, I was just sensationalising it. Or something.

Anyway, since Google rolled out the new style interface to Gmail, I've had a little problem. After I've finished using Gmail, I type a new URL into the location bar and press enter, and Firefox crashes. Not the best situation. Does anybody else here get this?

I've got various accounts in differing states of UI capability, some rocking the most recent to those still seemingly using the first interface without much of the JS doodah-ery.

None of them have yet to kill Firefox for me. Yahoo's newest UI for their email service however has brought every browser I've ever used it on to its' knees.

What does the new interface look like? I have half a dozen gmail accounts but I POP access them all through windows live mail.

There is hardly any difference, but I'm reliably informed by a blog I was reading the other day that there are lots of new features, none of which I've used.

Interesting you've had no problems Nini. I wonder why it's just me?

essentially they changed the underlying code and brought the contacts manager from somewhere else on Google. it did bring it some useful things like being able to bookmark messages and use the back button properly but it also broke loads of things meaning that it tends to complain if you try and change page before it thinks that you're finished, even though you have.

Out of interest, why not IMAP and why not Outlook? (Asssuming you have both...)

I've been using Gmail IMAP for a while now and it's not that bad. I mean, for something free...

Maybe I meant IMAP. I would need to know what that means to be sure.

What I haven't got used to yet is my username appearing in the page title after Google Mail - Inbox. It makes me get all excited and think that I've got a new e-mail...
