I have now been on hold to Orange for 55 Min. I lost my mobile 2 days ago and need to report it so can claim on the insurance!

Been trying to talk to someone for 2 days now - keep getting cut off.
ARGHHHHHH.

Not as bas as when I was with O2 online - at 50p a min. Was on hold - ended up falling asleep on the sofa and was still on hold once I was woken up!

You would think communications companies would be able to at least communicate with thier customers!

I got a new phone last week and very quickly managed to block it while setting the pin code. Must say I was impressed with O2's customer service, got through straight away to a guy who gave me the PUK code without any hassle - not premium rate either.

In other news, been in Maidenhead all week, which despite my previous impressions (and its proximity to Slough) is actually quite a nice place with (so far) a good selection of places to eat.

So what training course are you on, then, Mark?

Why is it that practically everybody gets sent to Maidenhead at some time in their lives to go on a training course?

ICL used to have a rather nice training place called Hedsor Park, just outside Maidenhead, many years ago.

Doing factory tests on new transmission equipment. Another 10 days of that over the next few weeks.

Maidenhead does seem to be full of company headquarters. I spotted Symantec's, though managed to resist the temptation to break their windows.

Well that's not very impressive, you can get PUK codes online for most operators.

Surely the fact that Mark got through to a person straight away is impressive enough!

I was on hold with Apple for 48 minutes and the answer took less than 1 :l

I've been with Orange for about 6 years, and they are bad at Customer Service. Having worked for them temporarily for 3 months last year I now know why!!!! (they employ muppets like me to answer their phones!  )
