There is a conspircy theory here and no sign of Johnnyboy.
Johnnyboy will you please stop having a life and post something.
A former Russian spy dies...
Hello mrs hellfire
I think johnnyboy will return soon but I don't know when. Sometimes people come, people go but if he really did go we would all be asking him to return.
Johnnyboy has already signed a lifetime account with another forum where he said hello, made some posts and then disappeared. But he did make a valid point where he would get into the habit of visiting other forums as well in which I would agree with him.
Anyway, following cdd's post about Martin on another thread, it feels like he has abandoned us and I would like to see him again as he's the admin of metropol and I haven't got the chance to meet him yet.
But if johnnyboy did leave us for good, who would be the replacement moderator?

Do I?
Anyway I like how Gavin and jb maintain Metropol and I don't like it when someone well respected will leave without reason because it can leave a gap in the forum. Then again it will (obviously) be very likely he'll return with open arms. And when did Gavin become the assistant admin of this place? Sorry I'm just being curious.
I don't want to cause a war here but if he did leave for good, I can see around 3 people (excluding myself) who would become his future replacement. Besides, who would want me as moderator anyway, noone would.

Back on topic,
Firstly, like all deaths, it is obviously very tragic. I find it mroe tragic, because he was in the news, and we (the public) were kept posted on events. This giave it the will-he-die-? feeling, and when he did, I was upset. Also the photograph of him poisoned is very sad.
Now, I know that really, his death isn't more tragic than that of somone who wasn't in the news, but the irrational human psyche makes it feel more tragic, than normal, when you experience (be at a [news] bulletin-level) the event, in real-time.
Secondly, I have no idea what happened, but this is a guess at what I think happened.
• It was someone impersonating the KGB, to make them have bad press
• Anything else[/list]
I don't want to blame anyone, without evidence, so the only group that I specifically named was the KGB—because they have already been accused.
P.S.: To make the list clear, I've used triangular-bullet points, which, I think, are conventional punctuation (cf. punct. like the interrobang), I've guessed that they are allowed on the forum, because they are conventional. Adminstrators/moderators, if you have a problem with me useing bullet points, then please say, and I'll remove them. I have also used dashes, same goes with that

- ‣ this could (in my guess) be:
- ‣ A small group who wants Western–Eastern ties to be broken.
‣ A Western group that wants the Eastern–WEstern ties to be broken, framing the Russian government.
‣ Actually the KGB

Why do people say “Quad bike” and “Double prime”—it is like saying a “three-sided square”, oh wait they do, “Tri-square”?!

The KGB was rebranded in the early '90s. It's now known as the FSB (sorry... F.S.B.) and is nice and cuddly. And it doesn't murder renegade spies. Apparently.Rob Del Monte wrote: • It was someone impersonating the KGB, to make them have bad press
• A random attack, that has nothing to do with his spying-history.

- Ooh look - a nested list!
- And I haven't had to worry about 'punctuation' symbols!
- Why?
- Because BBCode will sort it all out for you!
Sorry, sorry, sorry... I'll live life in the JM way from now on!miss hellfire wrote:There is a conspircy theory here and no sign of Johnnyboy.

This one seems more cut and dry than the fraud which is 9/11 to me.
It's highly doubtful that any "terrorist" or Mafia-like group would have access to the poisonous agent, and, even if they did, would they know how to use it?
Who else could have been involved other than a Governmental agency? This death, imo, was designed to drag out to deter other former agents or potential former agents from following his course. It's even more sadistic than the secret-service-slain David Kelly.
