Hey guys,
I have recently created a fantasy TV series based on the Splinter Cell video game franchise. It is a show that I have created to get feedback from you guys to see what kind of response it would get if it were to actually be made. The episodes, for now, are in script form and are available to read on the official site for the series (link bellow).
General info on the show...
1. Keifer Sutherland will portray Sam Fischer
2. Dennis Haysbert will portray Irving Lambert
3. Cameron Diaz, Daniel Craig, Angelina Jolie, David Boreanaz, Zachary Levi and Ian Somerhalder will all be cast regulars.
4. The entire first season will detail the events of one single mission.
5. Sean Callery (24) and Amon Tobin (Splinter Cell video games) will create the score for the show.
6. Characters backstories will be revealed through flashbacks (like Lost but not so many, maybe 1 or 2 an episode).
7. The first season consists of 12 episodes and will detail a penetration mission in Alaska.
Now that Splinter Cell has aired it premier episode , I want to get your thoughts on it. I wanna know what you thought about the storyline, characters and the series in general. You can read the entire script for the first episode, Turning Off The Lights here on the official website for the series here... http://www.freewebs.com/splintercellser ... lights.htm
I also wanna know what you think of the site, I designed it myself and would greatly appreciate your feedback. Also what do you want to happen in future episodes? Episode 2 - Man Down will be released on Wednesday 22nd November so please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks! And I hope you enjoy the rest of this action-packed series!

Honestly? I found it derivative of better programmes, not least indicated by your use of actors from "24".Agent Bauer wrote:What are your thoughts on the episode, series and site guys.

There was no introduction to characters, rather we were plunged in at the deep end (literally).
The use of flashbacks (a-la Lost) is a lazy technique and should be avoided - in my opinion.
Clearly you have got some potential with your story, and there is certainly a cogent narrative; but I would prefer to know something more about the people before I try to engage with their dilema.

I understand what you're saying. However, i chose Sutherland to play Fischer because I believed he would be good in the role as a middle-aged Fischer who has seen a lot of action. My choice of Haysbert as Lambert was because he can play the confident man in charge as he did in 24 and also he was the voice of Lambert in the second game, Pandora Tommorow.
I understand your consern about not knowing any of the characters, however this was deliberate of me as each character's history will gradually be revealed throughout the series, so you will have the complete story by the end. For the first episode I really wanted to concentrate heavily on what was going on in the field to really set up the main storyline, and then go back and look at characters in more detail throughout the rest of the series.
Thankyou for your reply.

Maybe I need to read a bit more then. Provide an example of an episode where we learn some backstory.
I've had an idea for a TV show.
It shall star myself as myself, and Ian Somerhalder as my boyfriend as he's hot. We shall go around the world insulting idiots, and then have lots of sex.
Please respond.

An example of an episode from this series that will reveal some backstory is the Tragic Shanghai Mission. It will be an episode that details what happened to Fischer, Foster and Hudson, revealing how they are all related and their relationships with one another. Also in the episode Flooded we will find out how Gibbon and Clarke know each other.
I will post the episode list for season 1 shortly.
