Say I want someone to listen to what I'm listening to in an uncomplicated way. What I used to do was give them the IP with an 8000 at the end (if I recall correctly) so they could listen to what I was "broadcasting" with Mixmeister.

Say, for example, I wanted to forget Mixmeister even existed. Is there a way I could use, for example, Winamp to "play out" mp3s and get someone somewhere else to listen to it?

You can download Windows Media Encoder free and broadcast whatever you're listening to on port 8080 by sending the output of your sound card to it. You may have to configure your router to allow it to broadcast on that port.

Good call, I'll give that a go. I've been playing with Icecast and Winamp but there's far too much button clicking for my liking.
