Pluto no longer a planet

About 2,500 scientists meeting in Prague have adopted historic new guidelines that see the small, distant world demoted to a secondary category.

The researchers said Pluto failed to dominate its orbit around the Sun in the same way as the other planets.

The International Astronomical Union's (IAU) decision means textbooks will now have to describe a Solar System with just eight major planetary bodies.

Personally I'm amazed at this decision! It'll be so difficult to appreciate a solar system with just eight planets. How do you think Pluto will feel about it?

So which is my ruling planet now? according to my starsign Pluto is my ruling planet. This is just going to complicate things. Bloody scientists, interfering again.( except you Sput. < big hugs>)

Anyway, all is good in the world; i've just done one of those free astro profile thingys and i have 2 ruling planets, the other being Mars and that is safe... For now anyway! PHEW!

Yeah things are looking pretty glum within the universe of late. The planets look like they're in for a scientific spring clean and possible rebranding. I still can't bring myself to call it Snicker. So what would Mars become if it was rebranded? And they better not mess with Uranus < childish giggles>
