*Warning for those prone to cry watching Films*
This film is based on a true experience, made into a novel. It may be a Japanese Anime from the renouned Studio Ghibli, but dont let that stop you watching it.
It is an experience I feel everyone should go through, it will move you profoundly and will haunt you for days/weeks afterwards.
It is on Tonight at 2.05am on Film4, an hour later on Film4 +1 or Monday 14th August at 12.45am.
I would not recommend this film to people looking for a laugh, or for young kids.
"Seita: September 21, 1945... that was the night I died."
"Setsuko: Why do fireflies have to die so soon?"
I can not over estimate how powerful an effect this film had on me.
Grave of the Fireflies - One of the most Powerful films ever
