How can I speed up my RAM hungry computer?

I know there must be several tips and tools for maintaining that "runs like new" feeling on your computer, so does anyone have any ideas on which of the following processes I do NOT need to be running, and any other ideas on how I can speed up my machine.

A couple of months ago when I clicked on a folder, it would open instantly. Now there is a couple of seconds lag. Also the right click menus are slower too.

Any ideas?

Google the processes to see what they're part of.

SVCHOST.exe is a key part of Windows, as is Explorer.exe, winlogin.exe, Spoolsv.exe and SNDSrvc.exe.
Your Firefox seems to be taking up a lot of memory.
MSMegs is Messenger, get rid if you do not use. MsnMsgr.exe is MSN Messenger.
TaskMgr is what you have open.

Google them, see what they're part of and then decide whether you need them. Also do Start-> Run -> MSconfig -> Startup and untick everything you don't need.

But of course, how much memory does your computer actually have?

It's probably slowing down because of all the repressed homosexuality clogging it up.

FasterFox actually slowed down Firefox for me. Didn't improve anything here.

I moved to the new alpha version of Firefox, Bon Echo. Not any bugs but you need a plugin called Nightly Tester Tools to make your other plugins compatible. It uses up much less RAM and generally runs faster.
