It's at the Opera House in Manchester sometime later this month and I wouldn't mind seeing it, I saw it advertised on their billboard last week and just thought I really want to see it. I loved the TV show, I'm glad they've brought the character back, you don't see much of any Thatcherite bashing in the Blair-ite years if you get my drift, so this sounds good.
I went to see this at the Opera House today, and I can say I wasn't disappointed and would urge everyone to go, it was very funny, very up to date and a brilliant piece of satire. Mayall didn't disappoint, though his voice was starting to sound a bit rusky but he carried on, with plenty of Prescott bashing, plenty of BBC bashing, even BBC1 ident bashing wasn't a miss.
It's a shame this hasn't returned to Television, but the Theatre allows it to do more than what you'd expect on Television, it was a bit more riskier, plus the word cunt was also said a few times too.
Rik was also great at improvising, he messed up one word and ended up repeating himself twice until he got it right. Also a door knob from the set fell off, and added he'd fire the bastard who was responsible. Mayall was great and eccentric, especially at the very end when all cast took the bow.
Though enough of me going on, it was the best £20.00 I've spent in a while.
