I've got the nasty problem of having unwanted options on the right click menus for certain files. For instance, if I were to right click on an MP3 file, I get options such as:
Convert to Ots Album File
Edit Info
Play with OtsDJ
Add to Sync List
I uninstalled OtsDJ and BSI a long time ago, yet the options remain (although point to a non-existant thingy).
Any ideas on how to get rid?
Removing uselessness from my right click menu
Run Regedit.
Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
Disable what you don't want by highlighting the key in the left pane, double-clicking the name in the right pane, and renaming the value data (it's probably a long string of characters enclosed in braces) by putting an additional character (e.g a dash "-") in front of the value. If you're brave, you could actually delete the key in the left pane, but I recommend just disabling it.
Refresh your Explorer window (or close and reopen it).
That ought to do it, but it only works for files.
For folders, you'll do a similar operation under these keys:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
Hope this helps.

Now, can anyone tell me how I can:
1. Stop IE6 saving every webpage I visit to the Temp Internet Files.
2. Empty the bloody Temp Internet Files
3. Stop FireFox from freezing up everytime I open it and try to type in a URL. I get as far as "ww" and it just freezes. Then I get (Not Responding) on the title bar. Pathetic.

1. Internet Explorer will always save stuff to the temporary internet files folder - unlike firefox Internet Explorer doesn't have an in-memory cache so it needs somewhere to save the elements of each page so that it can display them.
2. You can do this the usual way: Tools -> Internet Options -> Temporary Interet Files [Group Box] -> Delete Files
or the best way is to Restart you computer, login as Administrator or another Administrative user, navigate to: C:\Documents and Settings\James (or whatever your username is)\Local Settings and delete the entire Temporary Internet Files folder. This is will be recreated automatically when you start Internet Explorer again, and, it will rebuild the cache index which can get bloated and full of orphaned file links and slow down browsing.
3) Firefox. Best way is to delete your profile completely: Shutdown Firefox, navigate to:
C:\Documents and Settings\James (or whatever)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox and delete the Profiles folder.
and then go to:
C:\Documents and Settings\James (or whatever)\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox and delete the profiles folder from here.
You'll have to re-download your skins, plugins and re-apply any tweaks you've applied but i think that's probably for the best since you'll know what is causing your browser to crash.
