Peter Kay and Tony Christie's Comic Relief single has now been at number 1 for 7 weeks, the longest run at the top since 1998.
Is there anyone out there that hasn't got a copy?, who is actually buying this still, surely if you wanted it you would have bought it a bit sooner, rather than waiting 7 weeks. I can't see why anyone would still be buying it now after all this time

Me, if you mean anyone who hasn't bought it this time round.Andrew wrote:Is there anyone out there that hasn't got a copy?
I've still got the vinyl 45 from the first time round, so no need to buy it again.
Whatever happened to supporting the artists!!Nick Harvey wrote:Me, if you mean anyone who hasn't bought it this time round.Andrew wrote:Is there anyone out there that hasn't got a copy?

It does, according to the sleeve inside Peter Kay/Tony Christie have waived their fees and Universal will give all net profit to Comic Relief.Hymagumba wrote:surely the money this time goes to Comic Relief and not TC/PK
Though Christie has got an album out right now, which was at No1, so he's been making a fair bit of whack.
I seriously cannot believe it is No1, it's a good song and a bloody good video, but for 7 weeks! Surely someone must be sick of it by now...

Of course, greedy companies couldn't even contemplate the thought of doing it without making a big deal about it; a bit like Starbucks' "A Coffee Story".nwtv2003 wrote:It does, according to the sleeve inside Peter Kay/Tony Christie have waived their fees and Universal will give all net profit to Comic Relief.Hymagumba wrote:surely the money this time goes to Comic Relief and not TC/PK
I read on Teletext yesterday that "...Amarillo" sold just over 1,000 more copies and downloads than Snoop Dogg's "Signs".
And I am bored of hearing the song, seeing the video and having the song still at Number One.

... at least it's going to a good cause.
The problem with that song is it's catchy & you end up singing or humming it every where.
The other two songs I do that with at the moment are
Black Eyed Peas : Don't Funk With My Heart
and
Train : Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)
