Paying for Invision Power Board?!
Since when did people have to pay for Invision Power Board?! Just at a time when I was looking at the possibility of installing it with a view to a possible change to TV Forum, I notice you have to pay. Ridiculous. I'll definitely be sticking with phpBB - at least they don't look like they running it as some major corporate business.

I have still got archived copies of downloads of IPB 1.12, 1.2 and 1.3, all original and unmodded as they came. Come and find me if you're interested.
It is part of a so-called "new focus" to their business. The way they went around changing it to a pay board was very deceitful, and goes against everything they said before that their would continue to be a free or trial version.
At least phpBB 2.2 has quite a good list of new features, that should bring it up to the level of Invision Board.

There was a converter available from them to convert PHPBB boards to Invision, is that still available just out of interest or is it buried under the "pay us loads of dosh first" cover?intheknow wrote:It is part of a so-called "new focus" to their business. I think all the offical converters are only for those who have bought the main product now, but there might be unoffical converters that people have written themselves.Neil Jones wrote:There was a converter available from them to convert PHPBB boards to Invision, is that still available just out of interest or is it buried under the "pay us loads of dosh first" cover?intheknow wrote:It is part of a so-called "new focus" to their business.
