Well seeing as there is a new Live album out this month (Queen -On Fire live from the bowl) I thought it might be interesting to see what was peoples favourite song by Queen. I am a huge fan of them myself so it is quite hard t whittle them down. I have left of some obvious choices, namely Bohemian Rhapsody as everybody chooses that. So if that was your favourite song what is your Second favourite song by one of the greatest bands in UK Music History.

I am only doing this out of interest if this thread dioesn't do well please feel free to shut it down

Apart from the ones on the list, I also like "Seven Seas of Rhye" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" - which when I was growing up I thought was called "Crazy Little Thing Colm", finding out there wasn't a song named after me was quite a let-down :)

I went to se the musical 'We Will Rock You' last month. Not bad at all, if a little contrived in parts. Loads of CGI backdrops and stuff. The downside was the £3.95 I was charged for a half of Fosters in the bar. ;)

I knew I forgot something :)

Ah well There's so many to choose from. The best live song they ever did was Hammer To Fall at Wembley in 1986. That one got the whole audience cheering. However the new on eis from 1982 (before The works album in 1984) so I might change my mind once I've listened to that.

I choose A Kind of Magic

I can't think of 'It's a Kind of Magic' without thinking of two things. First, the fact I accidently recorded my voice over a bit of it on tape when I taped it off the charts, and secondly the car smash we had in 1986. I was listening to it on NOW 7 (the bonus track!!) on the Walkman at the time!

I should have added other to the selection but I though you could only put ten options in a poll, or am I wrong

any of you here seen we will rock you?

i saw it in july with my ex, and although the plot was a bit iffy in places, it was very funny, and the standard of acting and singing was truely amazing. i'd recommend anybody who hasn't seen it to go. we got front row seats on a friday night, and it was only £45 quid each. i might take my new girlie there for crimbo or something cos she's a bit of a fan... anybody know any nice hotels to stay in? at the time, i stayed at the city inn, which was really nice.

Miss my post three replies up? ;)

Our tickets were only £25 each so nah nah. ;) Good seats too, but I agree, a bit 'iffy in places'. We got a hotel room at the Travelodge in Islington, on a 'buy one night, get one free' offer. £45 for the room, not per person, and the bar is open is til 1am. ;)

I'm going to see 'We Will Rock You' in 2 weeks for the second time - I'm driving my best mate down there for his 21st birthday to see it and he has no idea about it! All he thinks is that he's coming to mine for the weekend and that we're going to pick up his present in the car. He made a joke about blindfolding him on the way - little does he know it will be for a 3 hour drive ;)

I absolutely loved it when I went to see it for the first time last year, especially Scaramouche! Hilarious! Although I believe Niger Planer and the lady that played Killer Queen are no longer in it, hope the new ones are just as good!

As for my favourite song it's a close call between Don't Stop Me Now and These Are The Days of Our Lives, prob DSMN

No, Nigel Planer wasn't in it. It was supposed to be Mark Arden (who I recognise from bit parts in things like 'The Young Ones') but it didnt seem to be him either. Maybe it was his understudy that night.

I have heard it's good although a little far fetch.

Well the new live CD is out Monday & it's supposed to be really good according to one reviewer, however still probably not as good as Live at Wembley 1986.

I have heard some of the old songs before live (Live Killers CD) However been from 1982 it is part on the HOT SPACE album tour (Live at Wembley 86 was the A KIND OF MAGIC album tour). I'm interested in hear some of those tracks live considering they were dropped from live concerts soon afterwards, expect of course Under Pressure.

By the way I discovered a great unofficial Queen Site which has lots of info about albums, singles, etc. also news on a future Rare & Unreleased Box set which was supposed to have been orignally released in November 2003 but will now (hopefully) be released sometime in 2005.
