Marketing Madness

Apparently Nestles are dropping the Kit Kat slogan "Have a Break, Have A Kit Kat". It will be replaced with something fresh along the lines of "Make Your Break with A Kit Kat". Wow! There's some dynamic marketing for you.
This is all because of falling sales in recent times. Now if they compared the nice smooth taste of the Kit Kat chocolate wafer biscuit when it was made by Rowntree-Mackintosh in York a few years ago to the now powdery chocolate flavour of today they may just realise the quality of the product isn't as good as it was. Save thousands of pounds re-marketing and spend the money on the original recipe would be a far better solution in my view.
What do you think?

It's a shame to see the slogan go, but Kit Kat is more of a different thing these days, as there's Kit kat Kubes, Kit Kat Chunky, Kit Kat Ice Cream, Kit Kat Lemon and there's probably more, hence why the fall in sales for normal Kit Kat. Though I wouldn't expect a massive outcry with the dropping of the slogan, people don't associate it much with Kit Kat, I don't really associate it with the product and I don't believe many people do.

It's nowhere near as big as Beanz Meanz Heinz or anything on the scale of that.

Though you never know, this new slogan may fail and they might bring the old one back.

Absolutely spot on.

I was very willing to try all the new Kit Kat variants, especially the giant size, but the chocolate absolutely mings. It used to be delicious. It now leaves a sour aftertase (like turned milk), and has the texture of Scotbloc cooking chocolate.

I've given the new 'Kubes' a miss completely.

Dairy Milk also tastes distinctly greasy recently. I'm currently sticking to that Nestle Double Cream stuff. Lovely chocolate that is.

Curly Wurlys are now half the size but cost twice as much from the days when I was ickle and how about the days when a finger of fudge was just enough to give your kids a treat.

Why were those little Mars bars called 'fun size'?

There was nothing fun about taking two mouthfulls and still feeling hungry! :?
