What bargains have you ever bought on ebay. It is sometimes unbelievable that you can get things so cheap.

I bought an Iraqi Dinar from ebay for 2 pounds.

Of course, the irony being that it is actually worth about 2 pence.

I also bought a fake poo. It's plastic. 99p.

It has proved invaluable.

Huh, I've never sold anything at profit on eBay, it usually goes for somewhere around half what I paid for it originally. Except for a laptop USB optic mouse which I inadvertedly bought for £4.99 and sold it back on eBay where it went for £9.02...

I know they aren't the orriginal chairs but they are a hell of a lot cheaper than the ones in John Lewis

Other fairly decent bargains I've got:

512mb usb card/pen for £60, cheapest I've seen elsewhere is £100

Good quality Sanyo projector in as new condition for £600

Brand new Dell Dimemension 3Ghz pc for £500

Selection of DVD's cheaper than anywhere else online.

A few months ago, I took the risk of signing up to one of those dodgy matrix things on eBay for a 15GB iPod.
As it happened, my name was placed at the bottom of the list. I'd pretty much expected that. BUT, there
were only 3 other people's names above mine on this matrix list. I put the £25 cost on a credit card,
so in case it went pear shaped, I could do a "chargeback" and reverse the charge.

Yesterday, the postie delivered a brand new, 3rd gen, 15GB iPod to my door, complete with accessories.

I tested it on both my iMac and my PC, to check for any faults. Much to my surprise, it works!

The thing is with these matrix lists being so commonplace on eBay now, especially for highly sought after
items such as iPods, you really can't be sure that you're getting onto one in it's early stages, or one that
has so many names on it, you could say it's become effectively oversubscribed.

So, even though I got (very) lucky, I would advise people to steer well clear from them now.

I would never consider entering one of these "schemes".

I have an interest in old things especially from about 1995. Don't ask me why, but I do. I bought a laptop for £40 pounds with windows 95, I'm also bidding on a cd drive for it.

After working the three busiest days of the year this weekend, The Grand Prix, my eBay shopping list will be as follows:

Handspring Visor Edge - I know it is an old PDA, but it's the look that attracts me to it. It's the best looking PDA I have ever seen. Hopefully, hold too.

Springboard Module(s) - Makes it that little bit better, especially with a wireless adapter and an MP3 one

64MB RAM Upgrade for Laptop - 22MB isnt good. for anything.

Win 95 B - I need my USB support.

But first I have to get ma Dads birthday present. Of which I have no idea what to get a 40 year old...

I've just calculated my approximate earnings over the next week or so. Currently, I work at Donington Park and The Nags Head. I'll be leaving Dono Park after this year and going for my job at the Nags with my brother. After this week I'll have just under about £200. More money then I know what to do with.

The thing that annoys me are sellers who charge extortionate amounts for postage. It happens most frequently on low cost items such as DVDs and CDs, of course we know why they do it, to bump up their return a bit more.

By no stretch of the imagination does it cost £2.50 to post a DVD or CD. :roll:

Me thinks the way to deal with this is do what Amazon do:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/tg/ ... 90-4302209 for details. Basically fix the P&P details themselves. Although it's not enough in some cases; I bought something recently, it cost £6.13 to send, Amazon only passed on £5.01.
