Hi,

Yesterday I went off to the cinema to see Shrek 2, and missed half the film laughing so much, twas a brilliant sequeland could even be better than the original! :o ...which is odd.

John Cleese, Jennifer Saunders, Rupert Everett and Antonio Banderas (sp?) were excellent additions to the film and there were some fab references to other films in it (for example Lord of the Rings) and lots of humour for the adults as well as for the children which is nice! ;)

Have any of you seen it? Do you think it's as good as I say it is ;) ?
Would be great to hear from you,
Joel.

I went to see it last night (as part as a Media Studies night out) but I was expecting it to be more of a kids film and to be honest it looked rather over-hyped, but how wrong I was, it was so brilliant throughout, from start to finish with non-stop gags, I've only seen ths first one once and thought it was okay, but this one is even better.

Best bits being when the cat was looking for sympathy and he used his eyes and Pinochio's lies with the women's underwear. "He's wearing a thong!"

Great film using the best of childrens stories and good copying of Hollywood scenes and other films.

Oh yes by the way, the guy at the bar who was one of the ugly sisters, was he voiced by Jonathon Ross? As it sounded like him.

Before it there were loads of trailers, Spider Man II looks great as does Garfield: The Movie, which looks funny too.
I just started downloading this last night. Loved the first one - and didn't think I would.

Why not fork out your £5 and go and see it on the big screen. You will enjoy it so much more

I will. I wouldn't deprive myself of the experience, and being something of a theatre-type I know all about the economies of bums on seats.

I only happened across it when I was browsing suprnova for some Simpsons. I'm a money-spending white-collar victimless occassional downloader.

Before anyone else asks.

It was a fab film. Loved the mid credits scene, which most people missed as they had already left the building!

An amazing film! Have saw it twice (once in English and the second time in French!!!)

The voices are all absolutely perfect and I was amazed at the song by Jennifer Saunders - truly fantastic and she's got a fab singing voice!!

The french version was interesting - many of the voices were actually representative of the original - even the French Shrek voice had a Scottish twang...and Puss In Boots even had the Spanish accent too.

Was really good - and the nods to all the films and stories in there just added to the sheer comic value of the film. Johnathon Ross as the ugly sister was inspired too!!!

I believe another two Shrek movies are planned - and if they're as good as this then I'll certainly be there to see them!

And as mentioned by someone else - Garfield looks great too...can't wait to see that!!
Good Lord!

Garfield does look great, it'll probably be the next big publicity cow too by the look of it (Pizza Hut's kids goodie bags are garfield atm).

I have to say my favourite single bit in Shrek 2 was when the people ran out of Starbucks in terror and right into another one over the road.

This was quite funny as everyone was filing out and stopped in the middle of the cinema until it finished!
