Yet more XP annoyances...

Ever since i started using XP i turned off the Welcome screen because its GUI was slow on my computer and I just didnt like it. So when I turned it off, My display picture disapears. Then when I go to push the dreaded 3 key combo, as i often do, i get my screen cleaned off, im then left with my Background Image (which is no longer the guy poking his eye out) and a lame box.

Is there anyway to get my picture back and be able to get to the task manager without having to go through a menu to get it?

Switch off the active desktop, then you should be able to view the image whilst your machine is locked or on the security screen.
