I've got this bloody irritating thing where whenever I start running MSN Messenger 6, it suddenly dissappears from my screen, and when you hover the cursor over the icon in the task bar, that too dissappears. Windows Messenger does work, but I want to use MSN Messenger 6 which I believe to be a lot better.
Now I have a huncht hat there is some kind of system conflict, but what conflict exaclty I have no the foggiest. Would anywhere be help to help out, as it is actually driving me bonkers.
Many thanks.

I'm trying to skim over Barnett's posts but as he has the same sig as you I would end up missing yours Rod.
I have *exactly* the same problem. When it crahses it simply doesn't inform you of the problem. It's infuriating although isn't happening as much with 6.2 as it did with 6.1
Out of interest, does WM start with windows on your PC?

And I had this problem (and managed to sort it) but can't remember how.
You have many problems, one of them being you are unaware of your own name.Barnett wrote:I have the same problem as well.
I really cannot remember when I did to stop this happening. All I can suggest, if you haven't already, is totally uninstalling MSN (uninstall, reboot and faf in the registry) and then reinstalling 6.2 from cold.rts wrote:I have renamed the Windows Messenger folder - but this has not helped. And as far as I know Peter, Windows Messenger does not start-up when I start Windows.
Sorry I can't be of any more help. It fixed itself and I didn't ask why.
