A neat trick indeed.

However you should maybe save it as a .jpg (with minimal compression to keep the detail) and it will be a little less bandwidth hungry - albeit not by that much.

I also have one member of this forum as one of my Myspace friends. I joked with them how it was rather odd mixing Myspace, which mainly orientates around my social life, with TVF/Metropol, my dirty little secret.
