Successful, sure; but I tend to believe its an engineered event to launch revised products that contain improvements they probably could have released with their earlier models.
I noticed that the beeb were running a report today about iPad rivals being launched in Berlin, in particular the Samsung Galaxy tablet. It made a nice change from the usual 'there is nothing else but Apple' approach

Of course it has all the things that people complain are missing on an iPad such as a camera, but of course when Apple finally catch up in 6 months time it will get far more publicity.

The mention of multitouch got a big cheer too, bizarre

This "AirPlay" move is odd. For years there's been AirTunes, which I use and find fab, which has been very proprietry and closed-source with only the Airport Express router allowed to use it. Suddenly though they've flung open the proverbial doors to let anyone make AirPlay receivers and adding it to the iPod Touch and iPad. What I am wondering is if it's them starting to move away from the dock connector for data sync (which can easily be done over wifi) and audio streaming to ipod-friendly appliances.

Ooh, yes please.
It'd only be four years behind its vastly superior rival from Redmond. Why on earth hasn't that officially made our fair shores yet?

Can you import it? Where is it sold?

Perhaps they each had the choice to have wifi sync or not have loads of dust leak into the screen.

I know which one Microsoft chose to ignore!

Was the dust a problem on the original brown thing?

I had one off eBay which got washing machine'd. I hastily bought an iPod nano to replace it which I have since regretted.
