Re: Indian Call centres

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather get through to a hundred Indian call centres than chubbybeep over there...
I've had a few of those, including some rather interesting ones from BT where the phone rang and I got a recorded voiceover saying "This is a message from BT: We are sorry, but we do not have someone to take you call" or something to that mind - they'd rang me and didn't even have the curtousy to answer the phone!peterrocket wrote:Has anyone had it when your phone rings, you answer it, and their reaction on the phone is as if you rung them?
That's because their phone rings too, thanks to the joy of automated dialling.peterrocket wrote:Has anyone had it when your phone rings, you answer it, and their reaction on the phone is as if you rung them?
Yep but they know they're ringing you as they work in outbound calls, when I answered my phone it was a case of them going "Hello - can I help you?"Sput wrote:That's because their phone rings too, thanks to the joy of automated dialling.peterrocket wrote:Has anyone had it when your phone rings, you answer it, and their reaction on the phone is as if you rung them?
I know. They don't necessarily know if it's inbound or outbound since they don't dial. The system dials usually and both ends ring - hence the delay sometimes.peterrocket wrote:Yep but they know they're ringing you as they work in outbound calls, when I answered my phone it was a case of them going "Hello - can I help you?"Sput wrote:That's because their phone rings too, thanks to the joy of automated dialling.peterrocket wrote:Has anyone had it when your phone rings, you answer it, and their reaction on the phone is as if you rung them?
Yes.Gareth wrote:does anybody answer the phone at BT?
Must confess I've never had that happen to me, but I can speak a fair bit of "GPO/BT speak", so can usually talk the recipient into making sure he transfers me to a helpful person.nodnirG kraM wrote:Except that in my experience the 0 recipient is unable/willing to help me and has to transfer me to someone in Bombay who "can".
