Having a shot in the dark here; but perhaps it's to make BP's image seem more environmentally friendly and, erm, green?

Oops, lost the franchise to First (or Worst if you prefer) who 'created' this:
and repainted about one train for their launch:
with most others in the old colours with squint First stickers covering up the logo, or just in limbo, running about like:
I liked NX's brand and little logo, but First have totally eradicated it nearly everywhere. But even they can't get the little

logos out of the train interior carpets.
