I have netsapce 4.8 on my W95 laptop because Mozilla or Netscape 7 wont load at all, it gets as far as a splash screen. Is FireFox more Windows 95 friendly?
I want to install MSN Messenger, but 1.x - 5.x won't work because it tells me either I must upgrade to the latest version or I need Internet Explorer to get it. So when i find IE 5.5, the lowest (working) version around, I need like 200MB of space to install the bastard thing!

"These are preliminary" says Firefox's site.
It certainly will run under 95 but won't be as snappy as it is on XP.

Microsoft seem to phasing out Win 95 (slowly).

No, it just becomes harder to design software which is compatible not only for XP and for 95 etc at the same time. There are lots of fundamental differences between XP and 95, so it's hardly surprising programs designed for Windows XP won't work on Windows 95.

"Clusterphobic" on mozilla firefox everything is spaced out, that what i meant about "clusterphobic"
;and i said that because i have seen a lot of software now that does not have Windows 95 on their compatibility list.
and that was just my opinion of the browser no need for "what the hell" everyone is entitled to their opinion.

According to Microsoft, Win95 is considered unsupported as of December 31st 2001.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows95 was last updated October 31st 2002 and
http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... 5&x=12&y=9 has links to Windows XP (although they then went and said that you couldn't upgrade to XP from Win95 installed even though you can if you have an Win95 installation CD due to a known bug).

Yes but some poeple are more entitled to one than others. Me for example.
he wasn't questioning your opinion anyway he was questioning your appauling attempt to spell <strong>claustrophobic </strong>. It isn't even pronouced the way you typed it.
With regards to dear old 95. I think it's part of the Mozilla ethics to support those poor sub-working class folk that are still on 95 and can't upgrade past IE5.5

No. You said "phasing out Win95 (slowly)" when in actual fact support has been discontinued for the past two and a half years.
