Well it appears that I have succumbed to the world ending swine flu. Although I'm not getting any Tamiflu as my symptoms are relatively mild and I'm not in one of the "at risk" groups. No doubt if I went through the soon be launched online check list I would be deemed suitable to receive the antiviral.

It appears I'm largely on the mend now - though that could well be famous last words. The worst part is that I'm still suffering from a splitting headache - it's taken me ages just to write this as it's taking all my time to focus.

I suggest we replace the Metrogreeting of "cooooeeeeeeeee" with "fluueeeeeeeeeeeeeee" in honour of Ison.

Does it feel any different to normal flu?
Ronnie is victorious, vivacious in victory like a venomous dog. Vile Republicans cease living while the religious retort with rueful rhetoric. These rank thugs resort to violence and swear revenge.

But Ronnie can punch through steel so they lose anyway.

Most people won't know as most people haven't had 'flu. Generally when people say they have 'flu they have a cold.

Both my best mates have had it in the last couple of weeks.

My sympathies to you.

I've been through a mild dose of some sort of 'flu over the past seven days. Constant sweats and shivering, aching limbs, no major headache - just a constant dull thumping - and the worst inflamed blistery throat going.

Not nice.

Like Ison i didn't bother with Doctors, NHS helpline or Tamiflu. Yes it is like normal flu, it creeps up on ya though. I felt run down for several weeks before it knocked me down.
I've lost 7lb. As i had no appetite for a week. I have cheek bones and hip bones again yay!!

Glad you're on the mend, hoping I don't succumb, although the losing 7lbs thing sounds good

It's good to hear stories of people getting it and recovering, TheLondonPaper had a double page spread of flu sufferers the other day, such a nice change for all the scare-mongering news stories out there

Well I called my GP today. Feeling sore and feverish and a bit grim, and went through the Q&A session.

Been sent home (from work, oops) via the chemist to pick up Tamiflu. Remarkable how those who said, "It won't be flu, you look fine - it's just a head cold..." were the first ones to freak out and head to buy anti-bac sprays for the office.

Don't feel as bad as some of the stories I've read, but its something I could really do without.

Hey ho.

i think i will probably regret saying this - but i wish i could hurry up and get swine flu. i'm looking ahead to booking my big holiday for late november and will no doubt be travelling through countries which scan on arrival. knowing my luck i will get the thing just before i depart.

given the amount of train travel i do, i can't understand why i haven't caught it yet.
