I've been free of the weed for 5 weeks. The only benefits so far are that i smell nicer, i've got more money to spend on food which incidentally tastes nicer. So for the pounds i save from not smoking i gain on the waistline.
I cough more than i did when i smoked. Infact i feel like shit.
Being a non smoker sucks!!

Non smoker for eight years, four months, six days, twenty-three hours and about twenty-nine minutes; not that I'm counting.

If you give it up at the same time as you come off loads of morphine, you don't notice the problems with coming off the cigarettes.

Not that I'm recommending that option to anyone else!

Well Nick. That post has inspired me to carry on cold turkey. My withdrawal symptoms must be nothing to what you've been thru.

R Gran quit smoking about 10 years ago after having a heart attack (which she still attributes to the stress of bringing up a daughter, and nothing to do with 40 Embassy Regals a day). She did put on some weight afterwards, although I can't quite remember how much, as the chemotherapy drugs she took contributed to some of her later weight gain. All I can say is cold turkey has made their lives better, though.
