iMacs - New Ones.
I bought an iMac just before they upgraded them so I phoned them and complained and they told me that I could return it and they would refund me. However I am thinking now that the version I got is better in some ways than what is on offer now for the price. Mine is 3.06ghz with 4 gig of ram, not going to tell you how much I bought it for but it wasn't cheap! The only difference is the graphics cards the one I have is a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS. If I was to get the new version iMac would it be much difference as it would mean that I would be downgrading on the size of the Processor to achieve the same price bracket. Hope this makes sense to someone? Also, hope I've not bored you to death

I'd say to trade up, you most likely got ripped on the RAM there if you asked for it as a BTO option as you always get screwed when it comes to OEM memory. The current 3.06 model has 4GB standard expandable to 8GB so you should really be coming in under what you paid. I don't have the full details of what you did and yes, I do need prices so lay it out and I'll tell you if it's worth your while but really, there's a very slim chance it will not.
Everything I say is sarcastic to some extent. Everything.
Right now, yeah, the price will drop and 4GB is good kicking room so wouldn't complain. Can't get a pricing right now, online store is down but I'd say the clincher is whether or not it's doing what it needs to do for you right now, if it is then screw it and keep what you have. It's not a case of if it is better but if it has enough space for you to move around in and expand without cramping you in. Sure, you brought in too early and the release caught a lot of people out given how unexpected it was but the thing is that it's a plenty decent system right now and whilst not better it is very good and wouldn't bother trading up.
I say that because trading up is more expensive but you do get a good amount of bang for your extra £200 or so. Even hopping down to the 2.93 one wouldn't be so bad, wouldn't even miss the marginal speed reduction, like going from 70 to 68. It's down to you but I'd say to stay put if it's working for you now, buyer's remorse always fades.
